“How can earphones this small be so light?” On August 30, at the 9th Earphone Meet-Up in East China, crowds gathered around the YueSound booth. Unlike the visual impact of large over-ear headphones at other exhibits, YueSound’s ultra-lightweight, compact design and gradient color shifts made it an instant visual focus. But what really sparked curiosity was whether such a small form factor could deliver sound quality that lives up to scrutiny.

As the event began, YueSound’s Aurora II and Starlight series drew attention with their dazzling colors and refined craftsmanship. One attendee picked up a pair and exclaimed, “Only 5 grams per side? You wouldn’t even feel them in your pocket!” Others curiously examined the hand-polished resin shells, admiring the aurora-like gradient effects.
Founder Sam shared the story behind the magic: “Great sound isn’t just about adding more drivers. For example, each of these 12 balanced armatures underwent hundreds of positioning tests to synchronize sound transmission and achieve precise crossover. The high-damping resin shell isn’t just lightweight—it absorbs vibrations for purer sound. Even the curvature of the earpiece was hand-adjusted over 100 times for a perfect fit that blocks noise without pressure.” Three decades of acoustic expertise were distilled into relentless tuning and meticulous detailing, balancing compact size with exceptional sound.
One audiophile tried several models and remarked, “I came for the looks, but stayed for the sound. Each model has its own signature—especially the Aurora II. The violin harmonics sound even clearer than on my $1,000+ pair. And they’re this light? Unbelievable!”
